Biography of Donald Joe Stanford

Red Oak, Texas

Donald Stanford was an aviation cadet in the United States Army Air Corps. He was killed in an airplane crash at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 3, 1941 at Rosedale, California.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Goodloe of Red Oak. He graduated North Texas State Teachers College in Denton, Texas, and was a member of Pi Phi Pi Fraternity. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Red Oak. He was buried in Dallas at Hillcrest Mausoleum on Sunday, March 9, 1941 following services at 10:00 a.m. at the Red Oak Methodist Church.

He is listed on the Waxahachie Daily Light Honor Roll, the Red Oak Monument and the Ellis County Veterans Memorial.
