Biography of Allen Franklin Sills

Ennis, Texas

Allen Sills was a private in the U.S. Army. He entered the Army in March of 1941. He trained at Fort Sill north of Lawton, Oklahoma, Fort Knox located southwest of Lewisville, Kentucky and Camp Polk near Leesville, Louisiana. He served in the Philippines, and was captured by the Japanese at Corregidor. He died in a Japanese prison camp on May 30, 1942.

Allen was the son of Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Sills. He graduated Ennis High School.

He is listed on the Memorial Monument to Ennis War Dead and the Ellis County Veterans Memorial.
