Biography of Hughes Sanders
Ennis, Texas
Hughes Sanders was a private in the United States Army. He joined the Army on August 4, 1918, and trained at Camp Cody in New Mexico and Camp Dix in New Jersey. He served in Company D, 109th Engineer Corps. He was shipped overseas in September of 1918. He came down with influenza, and died on October 2, 1918 at Mossley Hill Hospital No. 4 in Liverpool England.
He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Sanders of Ennis.
