Ceremony Aboard USNS Lummus

Presenting Texas Flag to Ships Master

The above ceremony was held aboard the USNS 1ST LT JACK LUMMUS on January 29, 2007. Colonel Hooks presented the Texas Flag to Ships Master and crew.

The Texas Flag that flew over the Texas State Cemetery on the morning of Veterans Day 2005 was presented to the Lummus family by Harry Bradley, Superintendent, Texas State Cemetery, at a ceremony honoring 1st Lieutenant Jack Lummus, Medal of Honor recipient from Ennis, Texas. The Lummus family presented the flag and items from ceremony to the U.S. Marine Corps: Colonel Jim Hooks and Lt. Colonel Chris Ellis, Blount Island Command.  Colonel's Hooks and Ellis presented the flag and items to Ships Master, Dave Hagner, and crew in a ceremony aboard ship
