Biography of Donald F. Comer

Donald Comer enlisted in the United States Army from Texas, as a private. He served in the 131st Infantry Regiment, 33rd Infantry Division.

The final campaign for the 131st was the final advance on Picardy, which was a province of northern France, north of Paris and on the West Coast at the English Channel. The advance began on October 17 and ended November 11, 1918, the final day of World War I, and the last day of Private Comer's life. 

He was buried at Plot A Row 14 Grave 35 in St. Mihiel American Cemetery at Thiaucourt, France.

The motto of of the 131st Infantry Regiment was "Led by Love of Country."

He is listed on the Ellis County Veterans Memorial.
